Your job is making sure everything comes in on, on budget and most importantly that the couple are happy. There's lots of detail management, accounting, marketing and negotiation involved. Enthusiasm is good but the huge amount of organisation required means you must be ready to run as a business. There are creative aspects to the work and job satisfaction but it is all founded on sound work and good business sense.

As a wedding planner, your work might include meeting with the couples to discuss their requirements and budgets and then coming up with tailored plans and creative ideas to fit in with their theme. There is insurance, risk management and other aspects of event management to consider, depending on the events included.
