We're cool, we're commited, we tele-commute from all over Europe to make Adzuna the awesomest classifieds search engine. Meet our team:
Doug was most recently COO of property portal Zoopla. From 2008 he led the growth of the team from 5 to 75 people and the site to number 2 in UK property with 5M visitors a month, organically and through acquisitions. Previously he was MD of Gumtree.com, the UK's largest classified ads site, where he built the team and business through a fun growth ramp after acquisition by eBay in 2005.
Prior to Gumtree, Doug worked for eBay UK, Bain & Company, Unilever and also as an entrepreneur. Doug has a BA in English from Cambridge, an MBA from Kellogg, and hates to admit he is a qualified accountant.
Andrew was mostly recently VP Marketing and General Manager of local review site Qype, where he grew the site from 0 to 17m monthly unique visitors in 2 years.
Before Qype, Andrew was Head of Marketing at Gumtree.com and ran Search Marketing for the Thomas Cook Group. Andrew has a BSc in Business & Economics from Oxford Brookes University and is a certified SEO Ninja.
After completing his PhD in Non-linear Dynamics at UCL, George begun working with Web technologies. During the past 11 years he has worked for small and large companies, with a a diverse list of clients in the public and private sectors.
He met with Doug and Andrew while working for eBay UK as lead developer for Gumtree. After 5 years with eBay, he left to join xe.gr, the market leader for classifieds in Greece, as the lead engineer. In one year he helped them transform their legacy web infrastructure into one of the most sophisticated classified platforms in Greece, which earned xe.gr technology awards in 2010.
In 2011 he joined adzuna after Doug threatened his family.
Before joining Adzuna, Angelos was responsible for the user experience and frontend architecture of many large-scale Greek websites including property.gr and automoto.gr. Prior to falling in love with terms such as "user experience", "usability", "cross-browser compatibility" and "graceful degradation of CSS effects" he worked as a PHP developer (and web designer) in a London-based startup with a portfolio of over 100 small-scale websites.
Angelos has an MSc in E-Commerce engineering from Queen Mary, prefers Fireworks to Photoshop, adores jQuery, is slowly learning to let go of IE6 and is very passionate about cross-browser compatibility - but usually leaves a couple of "errors" in his HTML markup just to annoy his standardista friends when W3C validation fails on something insignificant :).
