Adzuna & DWP host Kickstart event to Get Britain Hiring

It was a real pleasure to put on a Kickstart for Jobs roundtable this week and host members of the tech community, government ministers and young people starting out in their new jobs.

We were joined by some very big names from the world of tech – from global giants like Airbnb & Workday to homegrown unicorns like Transferwise (Wise), Cazoo & Deliveroo. We were also in the company of scores of startups and scale ups from up and down the country, looking to play their part in what we hope to be the hiring comeback story of 2021. Young people have borne the brunt of the Covid-19 crisis, and it was brilliant to see MPs, CEOs & HR Directors come together to address Britain’s youth unemployment challenges head on.

The last 12 months have sent shockwaves through the U.K tech community, the job market and the economy – it hasn’t been easy. Adzuna’s leading indicator data shows that we are in the early stages of a hiring upswing. Technology leaders are uniquely placed to help Britain’s young people find jobs and thrive in the coming years and we hope to see tech businesses in Britain embracing the Kickstart Scheme, apprenticeships & more in the coming months.

Huge thanks to Thérèse Coffey MP, Mims Davies MP, Baroness Stedman-Scott, Tony Wilson (IES), Oliver Beach (Jolt), Mike Jackson (Tech Nation) and our friends at the Department for Work and Pensions who helped bring the event together.
