CareerTok: What you need to know and who you should be following

Have you heard that people are starting to find careers on TikTok, and some are even posting their CVs in the form of a short video? CareerTok is on the rise, with career-themed videos with job-hunting advice, work opportunities, and CV tutorials becoming ever more popular on the social media channel. 

TikTok even piloted #TikTokResumes last year, which enabled users to be searchable by employers and although TikTok hasn’t released the stats, the pilot proved particularly popular with Gen Z job seekers.

TikTokers are building huge followings on #CareerTok. Here are 15 accounts you should be following if you want to get ahead:



Followers: Over 119k

Abdal shares some light-hearted posts reflecting on how to make some basic skills and more menial roles sound more impressive on your job applications. 

He highlights transferable skills and how to communicate these to employers. Although Abdal’s videos are quite tongue in cheek, he has some great advice for people who are just getting onto the career ladder or looking to move into a more professional role or industry.

Rawan works in the tech industry, having graduated from a community college in the US. She talks about how she’s been able to build a successful career, gain a 6 figure salary, and live debt-free.
