With 260 investors now pledging support for the next stage of the Adzuna adventure, we’ve been chatting to another of our existing investors, Robin Klein of The Accelerator Group, to get the inside scoop on his thoughts on the company’s potential.
Today, we are pretty thrilled to introduce Robin Klein, who was been involved with Adzuna since 2012, and continues to support the business today, with invaluable insights, advice and ideas.
Robin Klein
Robin is a founding partner of The Accelerator Group, and is currently on the boards of Moo, MyBuilder, EDITD, FreeAgent, , Skimlinks, Osper, Adzuna and Zoopla. Robin is a governor of Rhyl primary school and a past Chairman of Great Ormond Street Hospital’s funding company.
Robin has 20 years experience as an entrepreneur and 16 years of investing experience. In his last operating role as Chairman and CEO of Innovations, he conducted the very first UK ecommerce transaction in May 1995. Robin is passionate about helping to build the European technology startup ecosystem. He has a Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering and an MSc in Industrial Engineering.
What was it that first got you interested in Adzuna?
The exceptional quality of the founders. I knew both of them in previous roles and was convinced they would build a strong business.
Tell us what appeals most to you about the future of Adzuna.
Adzuna’s focus on the needs of the job hunter and career builder. They are re-inventing the way job search is done, using smart technologies, and that’s an exciting prospect to get behind. For an investor, the fact Adzuna is already international, with a presence in 11 countries, is also holds a lot of appeal.
What sectors are you particularly focusing on at the moment?
We focus more on entrepreneurs than on sectors, so I wouldn’t like to pinpoint one. Clearly cloud computing, mobile and e-commerce will all play a crucial role on an ongoing basis, after a lot of media attention in recent years
