As that Friday feeling comes home to roost at Adzuna Towers, we are reflecting on the fact that every single one of our investors and partners is a superstar in our opinion.
For one of our newest backers though, celebrity status extends beyond the world of business. We are pleased as punch to announce Eamon Downes, aka DJ Liquid has joined the Adzuna family of investors, and we grabbed a few minutes of his time to throw a few cheeky questions his way:
Tell us a bit about yourself
I’ve worked in music, business, journalism…and more besides/ I’ve had my fingers in more pies than Delia Smith!
Wow. So, You’ve been a DJ, A business owner, a journalist and more… What’s been your best (and worst) job?
Best is, and always will be, music; anything involving music. That I have been able to do this professionally for so many years is a blessing.
Worst: After school, for a year before University, I worked night shift in a rope factory. I was making abseiling rope and given my severe lack of diligence , I can only hope I didn’t inadvertently leave someone hanging around half-way down a building!
You’re one of Adzuna’s newest investors. What was it that got you interested in Adzuna?
In addition to being inspired by Andrew Hunter, one of the founders (who never stops talking about how great it is), I’ve got a real belief in the product and the gap that it fills.
What are your thoughts on the current state of the UK job market?
I’m not sure I’m the most qualified to have an opinion (although that never stops me): it seems easy to get distracted by a combination of Linkedin invites, recruiters plus the whole host of platforms out there advertising vacancies. The real value that Adzuna brings to the table for me is that it consolidates all that information, bringing it into one easy-to-use portal.
Last question. Will we see you touring and playing in the clubs of London and Ibiza again soon?
Although nothing is confirmed yet, you might well be seeing me in Ireland, the USA and London all very soon…
