The coolest uniforms on the high street

Social media had some fun this month, as Sainsbury’s tweeted in response to the news that an online fashion retailer was selling a £70 Puma hoodie that looked strikingly similar to its staff uniform.

Inspired by the overlap between work uniforms and fashion, Adzuna decided to take a look at what other companies have uniforms that look as comfortable on the catwalk as in the staff room.

Deliveroo vs Adidas

Fashionable and practical – the waterproof, reflective material is a godsend for travel on dark, wet nights – the Deliveroo jacket is stylish enough to tempt you away from your takeaway and onto your bike.

Which is good news, because a similar jacket made by Adidas and originally retailing for £110 is currently out of stock on ASOS

Waitrose vs Brunello Cucinelli

The Waitrose white and grey striped shirt has been a staple of the upmarket supermarket for decades.

Italian fashion brand Brunello Cucinelli has a ‘Striped silk crepe de chine’ that was available at half price for only £380 until it sold out. Unlike the Waitrose original, the 100% silk garment will need to be dry-cleaned, so it’s not ideal for long hours or split shifts.

Ryanair vs. Knightsbridge Neckwear & Joules

Recreating the ‘just about to take-off’ look of a Ryanair cabin crew member starts with a yellow neck scarf – a silk one from Knightsbridge Neckwear can be yours for £53.95.

You can complete the runway outfit with this yellow trenchcoat from Alessandro Dell’acuq. At £500 that’s enough to get you to Bordeaux and back 25 times.

Footlocker vs. MSGM

Inspired by the American referee’s shirt, Footlocker’s black and white stripes are a staple of the high street.

You can call the shots with a similarly striped blouse from Italian fashion designer MSGM – yours for £272, down from £453.

Ikea vs. Vivienne Westwood

The furniture giant is known for giving its temporary workers t-shirts which ask customers not to ask any hard questions – but permanent staff can enjoy a blue and yellow striped shirt that is reminiscent of the Swedish flag.

Hopefully the Vivienne Westwood take on a Scandinavian classic – now just £132 – won’t have strangers asking you where the Billy bookcase is.

Whether you’re looking for a job that comes with a killer uniform or a casual dress code, Adzuna is the fashionable place to start your job search.
