However, with organisations now relying more heavily on often very complex sets of programmes and data management systems, ensuring they all work together logically and seamlessly has never been so important.
Technical Lead – £63,087
Think you’ve got what it takes to be captain of the ship? Technical Leads need to bring a lot of skills to the table in order to successfully manage their development team. You’ll not only need the ‘soft’ skills of being able to communicate effectively and build relationships with colleagues, Technical Leads also require all the design, coding and technical know-how you would expect from a Data Architect.
Scrum Master – £61,147
It’s a catchy title, and the Scrum Master has a big part to play in a product development team. The rugby analogy was first used by two Harvard academics who saw parallels between the sporting scrum and the ‘huddle’ of a morning team meeting. The Scrum Master is responsible for finding out what goals the team are working towards individually and collectively, then seeing they can focus and succeed by removing any obstacles and distractions which might get in the way.

The role usually involves writing reusable, efficient code, security and data protection, integrating data storage solutions and designing low-latency, high-performance applications.
Data Scientist – £55,674
This is a field which has suffered chronic staff shortages in the recent past, so if you have the skills to be a Data Scientist you are guaranteed to be quickly snapped up by a company desperate to get you on board. Key skills you need include a good working knowledge of various statistical programming languages such as Python and a good head for numbers. You’ll also have to prove you can analyse statistics and complex data and have exceptional data problem solving skills.
