England’s Lionesses lifted the trophy at the Women’s Euros 2022 and there is so much to celebrate. As well as this, the Football Association (the FA) has revealed that it pays women the same appearance money as men when they play for England. Female professional football players are also importantly earning enough money to not have to have a second job in order to pay the bills. But what did some of the most famous Lionesses do before they became professional? Well, at Adzuna<\/a>, we have explored the answers to that exact question, and have even researched the current jobs of their partners.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

Bethany England<\/h3>\n

With such a patriotic surname, it is only right that Bethany England has earned her place in the England Lionesses team. It hasn\u2019t always been plain sailing for the forward player, however. From age 17 to just before her 20th birthday, Bethany worked in Wellington Street chippy in Barnsley. Her dedication to football is shown by her starting her shift at the chippy at 10 pm, and finishing at 5 am-6 am. She then had just a few hours of sleep before going to her football games. Oh, and at the same time, she was at college!<\/span><\/p>\n

Bethany has also worked in other jobs, such as a <\/span>bakery<\/span><\/a>, a <\/span>factory<\/span><\/a>, M&S, and an Indian restaurant. Her CV is pretty jam-packed! Unfortunately, she had no choice but to work so much, as at the start of her career at Doncaster Belles, she was paid just \u00a3150 a month. This didn\u2019t cover her fuel driving back and forth up to five times a week. Fortunately, England didn\u2019t let any of these challenges stop her and she is now one of the nation\u2019s most successful female players.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
