With over\u00a0\u00a31,000,000\u00a0already in the bag<\/strong> and 238\u00a0new inve<\/strong><\/span>stors<\/strong> on board, we are excited to see how the last few weeks of our funding period look.<\/span><\/p>\n

As we look forward to the next leg of the Adzuna journey, we cornered \u00a0one of our current investors to pick his brains:<\/span><\/p>\n

Robert Dighero<\/b><\/p>\n

Robert (@robertdighero) is partner at Passion Capital, the leading early stage venture capital fund in Europe. Prior to establishing Passion Capital with his partners Stefan Glaenzer and Eileen Burbidge, Robert was an active angel investor across Europe, focused on early stage e-commerce, payment and marketplace businesses including Shutl (acquired by ebay 2013). Operationally, Robert was CFO of QXL ricardo from 1998 to 2008, overseeing development from startup to its eventual \u00a31 billion sale to Naspers. Prior to QXL, Robert was CFO of AOL UK and previous roles included that of M&A at Bertelsmann USA and Verulam Investments. Robert started his career at Bain & Co, having left Cambridge with a First class degree and a post-graduate degree in Engineering and an MBA from Insead<\/span><\/p>\n

What was it that first got you interested in Adzuna?\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n

<\/b>The Passion Capital team met Doug and Andrew very early on before they had started the business and were extremely impressed by their understanding of the market and focus on what needed to be done.\u00a0 Given their outstanding track records, it was an easy decision for us to invest.<\/p>\n

Tell us what appeals most to you about the future of Adzuna.<\/b><\/p>\n

<\/b>The challenge of matching people to jobs is enormous and the industry is huge.\u00a0 The Adzuna approach of combining one simple powerful search engine with great additional tools for users is a compelling proposition which we believe can be rolled out internationally.<\/p>\n

\u00a0If you could invent one thing, what would it be?<\/b><\/p>\n

There’s a long list of things to tackle serious world problems I could list, but if it was more personal, then a mini time machine which allowed me to get an extra hour or two into every day could prove very useful.<\/p>\n
