If you scoffed at the idea you obviously haven\u2019t heard about the chocolate r\u00e9sum\u00e9 bar that went viral in 2013 after it was posted on Reddit. Unless you want your resume to taste of imitation you may have to go a step further and chisel your experience and skills directly onto the chocolate itself.<\/p>\n<h2>A prime candidate<\/h2>\n<p>While Philippe Dubost may currently be sold out you can still see the Amazon-style product page he created in 2013 to showcase his skills at <a href=\"http:\/\/phildub.com\/\">http:\/\/phildub.com\/<\/a>. The Amaz-ing resume has all the hallmarks of a real Amazon page, with suggestions for frequently bought items, product details (\u2018This item is available for shipping anywhere in the world!\u2019) and 5-star reviews. The stunt attracted a bucket load of media attention, but more importantly around 60 job offers (he eventually accepted one from a digital agency).<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.adzuna.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/11\/employ-adam-billboard.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-9005\" src=\"https:\/\/www.adzuna.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/11\/employ-adam-billboard-1024x790.jpg\" alt=\"employadam.com billboard - I spent my last \u00a3500 on this billboard. The gamble paid off, as\u00a0Paddy Power (who aren\u2019t shy of a bit of publicity themselves) decided to take up his offer and save him from emigration.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.adzuna.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/11\/save-me-from-emigration-jobless-paddy.gif\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-9011\" src=\"https:\/\/www.adzuna.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/11\/save-me-from-emigration-jobless-paddy.gif\" alt=\"Jobless Paddy - Save me from emigration billboard\" width=\"720\" height=\"445\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<h2>Job hunting is a literal journey<\/h2>\n<p>Emma Clifford\u2019s idea to advertise on the seats of London taxi cabs in August 2013 was inspired by the London Book Fair, where she was told graduates needed to think of inventive ways to stand out from the crowd. Perhaps she didn\u2019t pay her fare, but there doesn\u2019t seem to be any news online on whether the idea got her very far\u2026<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.adzuna.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/11\/emma-clifford-taxi-job-advert.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-9004\" src=\"https:\/\/www.adzuna.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/11\/emma-clifford-taxi-job-advert.jpg\" alt=\"Emma Clifford's job advert in taxi cab\" width=\"570\" height=\"755\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.adzuna.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/11\/emma-clifford-taxi-job-advert.jpg 570w, https:\/\/www.adzuna.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/11\/emma-clifford-taxi-job-advert-226x300.jpg 226w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 570px) 100vw, 570px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<h2>The Google job experiment<\/h2>\n<p>You don\u2019t need to spend hundreds of pounds advertising your services to get a job \u2013 Alec Brownstein got one in 2010 for just $6 by bidding on the paid results of Google searches. Brownstein targeted the names of five advertising directors he admired so that when they Googled themselves they would see a job advert pointing to his personal website alecbrownstein.com. The designer craved a job at Google, so created a resume that looked like a search result asking \u2018Did you mean: Eric Gandhi?\u2019 with the search query \u2018Creative+Hard-Working+Talented+Excellent Designer+Unique+Autodidactic+\u2019. Gandhi got a job offer from Google, but it wasn\u2019t the right position for him, and he went on to work for that well known Google alternative The, err, Weather Channel.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.adzuna.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/11\/did-you-mean-eric-gandhi.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-9003\" src=\"https:\/\/www.adzuna.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/11\/did-you-mean-eric-gandhi.jpg\" alt=\"Did you mean Eric Gandhi? Google search resume\" width=\"772\" height=\"450\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.adzuna.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/11\/did-you-mean-eric-gandhi.jpg 772w, https:\/\/www.adzuna.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/11\/did-you-mean-eric-gandhi-300x175.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 772px) 100vw, 772px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Gandhi recognises that not every industry would appreciate such a creative application however: \u201cI wouldn\u2019t necessarily apply for, say, a position in finance with a r\u00e9sum\u00e9 like that.\u201d<\/p>\n<h2>Fake your way to the top?<\/h2>\n<p>In 2010 The Chive reported on a girl who had quit her job by sending a series of images around the office essentially calling out her bad tempered boss and saying that while she didn\u2019t have another job lined up she\u2019d be just fine.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.adzuna.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/11\/i-quit-chive-hoax.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-9007\" src=\"https:\/\/www.adzuna.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/11\/i-quit-chive-hoax.jpg\" alt=\"I quit Chive hoax - Jenny aka Elyse Porterfield \" width=\"499\" height=\"323\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The story went viral as disgruntled workers across the world dreamed of being in Jenny\u2019s shoes. Except Jenny was actually Elyse Porterfield and the whole thing was a hoax. That didn\u2019t stop the young actress reportedly getting a few job offers however.<\/p>\n<h2>Christmas lights<\/h2>\n<p>If you thought standing out was just for job-seekers in their 20s think again. All Liz Hickok wanted for Christmas was an HR job \u2013 so in 2011 she spelt it out in Christmas lights in \u201can attempt to show my fun and creative side to problem solving&#8221;.
