Long ago this Welsh capital was a Roman fort and an 11th century castle still stands in the Cardiff, a contemporary landmark to it splendid past. Today, it is the largest city in Wales and the 10th biggest in the whole of the UK.
It is full of all kinds of galleries, museums and attractions and is, of course, well known as one of Britain's sporting epicenters. There's the aforementioned Cardiff Castle, the National Museum which boasts one of the finest impressionist galleries outside of Paris and, of course, the Millennium Stadium, one of the most stunning stadiums in Europe.
You also might recognize some of the sights of Cardiff from your favourite TV shows. BBC Wales is located in the city and just happens to be the filming location for the likes of Doctor Who, Casualty and Upstairs Downstairs.
