Content management is a job for the creative and communicative. It involves the production, editing and designing of information on a media platform in a way that is easily digestible to a targeted or general audience. Print and Broadcast media firms, PR and advertising houses , government and non-government agencies and pretty much any business that needs to reach out to an audience would need content management- the more proficient the content manager, the more effectively a business can put out its message.
In this role you would be deciding what information is published, how it should be laid out and how best to get the most important information across. Along with having excellent communication skills, you would be a multi-tasker, you would not lose your nerve under pressure and you would be able to quickly grasp and adapt to changing trends and audience tastes in any industry.
As a Content manager your key objective is to reach out to an audience and get the right message across. You would be responsible for keeping up with market trends and making sure the content you put across has the right feel and appeal for your audience. You would ideally:
1) Have excellent communication and organisation skills
2) Have experience in copy-editing and proof-reading/ journalism/ writing
3) Be comfortable working to tight deadlines and be able to juggle several different tasks at the same time.
