Can't stick the daily commute any more? Sick and tired of being stuck in someone's armpit on the tube at half past eight every morning? Ever see those ads down the side of your computer saying you can work from home? Well you can try it. It's possible.
With the advent of broadband, laptops and Skype, working from home is an absolute breeze and it is more than possible to make a living working from home. Requirements are that you are a self-motivated, driven, enthusiastic person. With these qualities, you could be halfway towards becoming a successful home-working person.
Working from home has its advantages, such as avoiding the stress and cost of a commute, but it could also lead to a feeling of being cooped up or there could be too many distractions to be viable. There are many opportunities, whether it is working for a company or selection of companies or starting your own business.
Pay is, obviously, variable on what you choose to do. Some companies are more than happy for you to work from home and you'd be salaried appropriately. If you have your own business, who knows what you could earn?
There are generally two options. Working for a company or starting your own business. If you are employed, it would generally be on a freelance basis, which would mean getting your finger out and making contacts. You'd need to be disciplined, committed and motivated. If you start your own business, whether online or a practical based business such as carpentry, you'd, again, need discipline to separate home and work life but the rewards could be huge.
