As tough times continue in homes across Britain and energy prices continue to rise, energy efficiency is becoming more and more. Many companies are sprouting up, helping families and companies save money on their bills and there are jobs available for those keen to enter the sector. With more Government targets and initiatives on energy efficiency in homes and offices, there are increasing opportunities for people to develop and sell methods of saving energy and, therefore, money.
As many opportunities in this sector are trainee roles, pay isn't brilliant, but it would mean a foothold in an industry which is rapidly growing. Enthusiastic, energetic, confident people ought to do well here as energy efficiency is generally a common sense industry. You would need to be an effective communicator to convince people to change their habits and negotiate better deals.
There is a fairly narrow field of jobs in this industry as it stands but a fairly reasonable number of them. The majority of jobs are trainee jobs which would involve a lot of door-to-door sales. This unfortunately means fairly low pay, but would usually involve commission based bonuses and chances to expand your sales skills and CV. Confident people with good communication skills and enthusiastic personalities will perform well in these roles.
There are also opportunities for those already with sales skills and experience to teach others and develop strategies for the implementation and deliverance of the services offered.
