As Head of PR, you will lead the public relations strategy for the company, raising the profile of the company, increasing its reputation and helping drive the business forward. As a champion communicator, you will become the spokesperson of the company for all external communications.
Working with your PR team, you will create innovative ideas in order to achieve coverage in the local, national and trade press from marketing campaigns to events working with third parties. You will also be responsible for all aspects of media relations, speaking with members of the press, overseeing the writing of press releases and, ultimately, achieving coverage in the local, national and trade press in order to increase growth.
In an industry where journalists are swamped with press releases and information, you will need to come up with an innovative approach in order to represent the company, leading the PR team to come up with a exciting, interesting PR campaign. As well as external communications, you will also be responsible for sharing the aims of the company internally to all departments.
As head of the PR department, you will be responsible for managing the company's reputation. In order to do this, you will advise senior management on the public relations strategy, create corporate documentation that represents the brand and that is in line with company style, oversee internal communications, create an annual PR plan, as well as communication guidelines for all members of staff to ensure consistency across departments.
In order to ensure coverage in the press, you will develop strong working relationships with key members of the media, work with the marketing team to create strongly branded advertising campaigns, and create artwork that helps to not only boost the image of the company, but also shifts units.
