Their culture and values are great and that makes one proud to be making a difference for so many people. Everyone is friendly and the staff is really involved and want to do good. There's a good atmosphere and a friendly environment. Management is flexible over the shifts and the job is satisfactory.
There are a few things that could be improved so the staff would do an even better job. There is need for more people to work so the current staff doesn't have to run and can spend more time where it is needed. More activities could be organised and the facilities and equipement could do with a little modernisation.
You feel valued everyday
People are great, there's no denying that. The values are good and you know you are making a difference in people's lives on a day to day basis so you value you job and find it relatively rewarding. The hours are flexible so you achieve a good work/life balance.
The shops are a business! It is true that they are only there to support the other side of the company but that doesn't mean they are not important. The staff gets so frustrated thinking of all the little things that could be done to improve the retail side and do more. Apart from the charity side of it, people are getting no incentive to do a good job. Management needs to be more supportive.
Job where you know you are doing good.
