100% of employees recommend this company to their friends

“Work with the best and get paid well, lack of training and development”

You work social hours with top class people and get fantastic remuneration. There are some really good socials at our office and the working atmosphere is good generally too Good name to have on your CV

Did not feel empowered by my managers Not much focus on training and development Career progression not made clear Salaries at junior level is not good Need to develop their staff more and incentivise them with bonuses, salary raises, training and development, career progression opportunities

Great to be located in the heart of London!

“Generally a good place to work with a good culture, but chances to progress are slim”

I really liked the office environment and working culture at Amazon. My colleagues I met were very clever and great to work with. The company is sociable, we had some fantastic office parties.

In terms of career progression there was very little made available to staff. Personal development was slim to none. The salaries for lower level staff could be improved a lot. My advice to senior staff would be to work on career progression paths for lower level staff more.

Little to no career progression.

“ok for few years”

If you work for an influential technology department at Amazon, it is a fantastic place to learn what it means to launch a business from the ground up, very casual work environment

Less levels than at MS, hence promotions are farther apart. Most individual contributor job families only have 4 levels (junior, mid, senior, principal) with very few people in the upper two levels. Big raise on promotion happen less frequently. Average raises for the average people. They prefer to hire someone else rather than give you a promotion..so think about your career

No free Amazon Prime or Kindle Fires.

“Great place to work, but not for very long”

Good employee empowerment culture. Great brand name to have on your CV. Youll meet a lot of hard working and intelligent people. There are a lot of growth opportunities on offer, and you can rise up fast if youre a good worker.

There is almost no work life balance, and the place is almost always under staffed. The company can get a little bureaucratic at times. There is very little training. The is not the kind of place where you want to work for more than a year or two.

One of the best brand names to have on your CV in the modern age

Amazon strives to be Earth's most customer-centric company where people can find and discover virtually anything they want to buy online. By giving customers more of what they want - low prices, vast selection, and convenience - Amazon continues to grow and evolve as a world-class e-commerce platform. Founded by Jeff Bezos, the Amazon.com website started in 1995 as a place to buy books because of the unique customer experience the Web could offer book lovers. Bezos believed that only the Internet could offer customers the convenience of browsing a selection of millions of book titles in a single sitting. During the first 30 days of business, Amazon fulfilled orders for customers in 50 states and 45 countries - all shipped from his Seattle-area garage. Amazon's evolution from Web site to e-commerce partner to development platform is driven by the spirit of innovation that is part of the company's DNA. The world's brightest technology minds come to Amazon.com to research and develop technology that improves the lives of shoppers and sellers around the world.
