The learning opportunities are certainly prevalent at American Express. You are encouraged to move around and gain experience. The job role can be flexible and working from home is encouraged

Once you are in the company it is very hard to negotiate a payrise. Graduates and external applicants will find this easier. The training could benefit from better resources. Politics can often stand in the way of progress and often there is restructuring taking place, but nothing that you wouldn't expect from any other similar companies.

The appraisal process requires you to list multiple examples in order to gain a very small percentage increase. Doing this on top of a busy work load is not ideal in terms of employee productivity.

Working atmosphere could have been better Pay could be better Company attracts ambitious people so the competition is very fierce at times Career progression felt weighed down by the size of the corporation Also although far from being a satellite, the best of the investment and prestige is in the US
