This company attracts and keeps energetic, talented people who are committed to their jobs. I found that the managers at the top were generally very open to ideas and in general the communication lines were pretty good. I would say that there is generally a fairly good work/life balance. And it's great to be working in a company which has a business with a secure future.
Some of the teams have too much to do and not enough engineers to help them.
The food in the canteen desperately needs a Jamie Oliver makeover!
The company is full of the smartest people you're likely to meet. They are also extremely down to earth and approachable. There is a lot of security, ARM has been rising for a few years now, and this is only going to keep going higher in the near future. Excellent work life balance, with a workplace that is engaging and friendly. Great benefits and holiday packages. ARM is probably one of the best places to work in the UK.
Sadly, the company is slowly losing track of small and agile roots and starting to act like large bureaucracy. This is starting to get in the way of small things that ARM employees took for granted before. The fear is that this will ultimtely stifle innovation and end the run ARM is having. The management is clearly growth focused, but not people focused.
Unneccessary and premature shift to large corporate management models.
