It's a reasonable brand to have on your CV It's a long established company with a wide distribution
Has gone a bit stale Lacks creative drive and there's no real ambition or interest in development apparently Blame culture not helping this, some of the management seem more worried about how not to come a cropper themselves rather than about doing something constructive for the company Lacks necessary entrepeneur spirit to take the company forward
Everybody stays in the good jobs for life so the possibility of a promotion would only come about if somebody popped their clogs
There isnt probably a best thing about Calor Gas, but there are some good things. For one, its a great company to work with and have on your resume, its a useful stepping stone to bigger things. The work environment while not spectacular, is well oiled and predictable.
The predictable work environment can quickly turn drab and uninspiring. This lack of inspiration permeates down to every part of the company from the management, which is completely lacking in drive and enterprise. Personnel Development and internal HR practices are horendous.
Bad personnel development for a company in this industry
