They have a habit of making you work bank holidays all the time! It's also difficult to progress within Carphone. Dream on if you work in store and want a job at head office!
Awful shift patterns and very little notice of when you'll be working.
Flexible part-time working patterns and the whole recruitment process is very professional. I particularly appreciated being placed in a branch very near where I lived when I joined the company. Work with some really great people, especially my team leaders and line managers and everyone is friendly There's a good atmosphere in store I am learning a lot about all the new mobile technologies and I like being up to date on this
Didn't get much training when I started Not enough staff on the branches so you end up working all hours, sometimes don't even have time for lunch. Other times there's not enough to do and you end up kicking your heels and that can be stressful. So much to get your head round when you first start, the computer system isn't easy to learn, and so many different packages offered, it's hard to remember them all initially and it's easy to make mistakes!
I get to see all the new phones before anyone else!

Abuse from the occasional customer, who think it's ok to threaten and intimidate people in their place of work, this is probably true in all customer facing roles.
Some great dedicated people
The leadership literally work you into the grave especially if you're a store managers. I have not met one store manager who is not tired, stressed and just generally poorly treated.
They have a vision that has no real bearing to reality in stores. Their vision generally has nothing to do with the treatment of employees.

the high turn over of staff and lack of training induction is a two day training on how to push the geek (insurance)
Ur used to be an amazing place to work they used to really care about there employees
They same to pin blame they miss sell products to get a number and if u don't hit the number they will performnace manage u
