Working in a banking environment always comes with its benefits.
Staff aren't motivated internally. It is not uncommon for an external employee with less experience to be hired at a greater salary than those internally. Contractors are up to four times more than employees, and often these contractors can be working for the company for more than 3 years. Some projects have more managers than developers, meaning the developers spend most of their time in meetings as opposed to developing.
Constructive criticism is not valued here and will be thrown back at you.
Good pay and benefits, on par with industry standards. Good work life balance available. The company offers work from home opportunities as much as three times a week, which is great. But this only applies to some teams. The management rewards good work. Work is challenging.
Some senior management dont know how to deal with people. When you do have to turn up at office, timings are no flexible at all, and the hours can be long. You often take work home as well.
Nothing very unusual. Standard finance sector job.
Fair pay shouldn't be a benefit!
