The work/life balance and the benefits package are quite good and it is a real pleasure to work with loads of young and motivated people from around the world.
The company doesn't really look after their staff. The employees are under-paid and have to cumulate many different caps in order to compensate for the shortage of staff. It doesn't offer many opportunities if you are looking to work your way up (especially if you are not british) and the food is far from great.
People don't tend to stay very long in the company. It's a job you take if you can't find anything else.
The only redeeming feature of a career at Firmdale is their recognition in the industry and the doors their name on the resume can open for you in the future. The staff is nice in some locations.
HR practices are horendous, the staff is given the worst treatment, and the company doesnt think of staff as humans. In fact they constantly proclaim that they are very proud of the way they treat their staff, and how friendly they are, when the reality has consistently been the exact opposite.
The horrible way that the management sees the staff. Their policies really need to change.
