Reviews:

“Don't let the recruiters fool you with talk of uncapped commission”

Some basic training which at least will give you a foothold in the travel agency world. That's about it unfortunately. Everything else is negative.

I felt something was up when the recruiter was aggressively trying to sell me the job in the interview. They came on massively strong and this was the first negative signal. Throughout training, my peers dropped like flies. I'd say 50% of the new recruits made it through basic training and less than 5% were still standing after 6 months. Why? High pressure bullying which many would deem (and this is documented widely on the web) harassment. This isn't a "we're all in the together" hard working place - Flight Centre is ridden with obnoxious, rude, money driven managers who don't have an ounce of empathy in their bod ... This isn't a "we're all in the together" hard working place - Flight Centre is ridden with obnoxious, rude, money driven managers who don't have an ounce of empathy in their bodies. The recruiter will promise you uncapped commission, great salaries and perks, but really you're on a crappy hourly wage with no chance of earning a decent commission until you're in your 2nd or 3rd year. Avoid it! more

Pushy recruiters selling dreams and fantasy.

“Expanding company with lots of opportunities”

During the recruitment process they boast that you can earn unlimited commission and it's true it really is down to you and there is no cap on what you can earn commission-wise The company is doing well and is growing which means there are even more opportunities to progress both in store and also into other sectors of the business

Hours can be difficult because you hardly ever get to leave on time! There is a really steep learning curve when you first come into the organisation. There is so much to take on with all the systems and also all selling processes and procedures

I love the really great socials to celebrate when we hit or exceed targets!

“Pay okay, not much support for graduates”

Compensation is fairly competitive for the market Training and development programme when you start is fit for purpose and gets you up and running No problems with appying, the HR recruitment procedure ran really smoothly and seemed well organised

Social side is all form and no substance – For example, the open door you find to management can make you feel secure but you're not, everybody is expendable here and with hardly any notice Social events therefore often seem edgy as there is a lack of real trust between staff and management No development schemes for graduates, as everyone is supposed to earn their stripes on the shop floor. But once you're on the shop floor you disappear into the crowd even if you are doing well and you can languish in the shadows there for years without being able to make your mark. Not very motivating if you've any ambition.

No graduate development scheme

“Amazing company if you love travelling”

They make you work hard, but you get to travel a lot, and the work is a lot of fun, with a lot of opportunity for fun, as well as learning and professional growth. The pay is excellent, you get a lions share of the commission. The parties and social events are great as well. Good prospects - the company is growing very fast.

When you first start working, it is very stressful, and it takes you a while to get acclimatised to the systems and the daily schedule youre going to have.

Unlike any other job in the world. Very flexible structure, lot of fun.
