“Appears good, but look deeper to reveal the issues”

The stores benefit from a great working environment. The colleagues are considerate and care about each other. The interaction with customers has given me more confidence in myself. It can be a good option if you are considering part-time work.

Pay is too low and we could be treated a lot better by upper management. More care should be taken by the payroll team. The relationship between staff and upper management is not good, communication needs to be improved. I felt there was favouritism and unfair issuing of the rewards system amongst my colleagues. Working through breaks without being paid was frequent. They need to introduce a clocking in and out system to ensure working hours are enforced more fairly.

Too much change in the past year that benefits those in head office but has made life more difficult for those lower down the chain.

“Worst company ever to work for treat employees disgusting and unprofessionally and take advantage and break the law as regards to work and breaks”

Nothing apart from some of my colleagues

“Awful company to work for”

When I put my notice in

Everything. Where do I begin ?! Store Managers provided with a pitiful wage budget which means there are not enough hours to train and develop new and existing colleagues. Store Managers spending 95% of their 12+ hour shifts replenishing shelves. Not enough wage budget and therefore the time to manage and develop the business. Extremely high turnover of store colleagues. Mostly only ever 7.5 hour contracts offered so this extremely limits the calibre of people who apply for the continual store job vacancies. Bullying field management with weekly threats of your job . No Headoffice or field management care of colleagues , its all about the bottom line profit . Constant field management threats to Store Managers about the high stockloss in most stores caused from the missing stock from deliveries that you have been charged for aswell as the high theft with most stores not having a Security Guard - The business will not sort out the depot delivery accuracy or provide guards or improved theft systems. Head-office and area manager answer is to spend a huge ammount of time trying to find if colleagues are stealing or if the depot has accidentally delivered a case of beans instead of a case of shampoo ! Store Managers are not allowed to make any suggestions / business ideas , be seen but not heard culture . more

Management still stuck in the 1970’s with a culture of intimidation and fear factor . Bullying field Management with constant threats of your job .
