Decent work life balance with no travel duties
Horrible HR policies, you can go from hero to zero in no time, for no apparent reason. Extremely impulsive and immature management team and HR practices. Clients too are frustrated with the shoddy work. It is not rare to see 3 or four different account managers handle a single project, as managers are sacked or shifted around at will. No one is happy with the company and the way it works, not the employees, not the clients - This is a company on the way down unless serious and far reaching changes are made, and a sensible and consistent management policy adopted.
Horrible, impulsive management.
Lots of teamworking and good levels of co-operation and support from colleagues. Informa provides information services to business and also publishes academic journals. Pay and conditions are OK, but not brilliant.
Dull, routine work. Very target-driven culture at Informa, which tends to be very inflexible and doesn't reflect the efforts of individuals that well. Line managers interfere and micro-manage at every turn. That gets very wearing. Informa tends to put short-term profit before medium and longer term strategic objectives, especially when restructuring, hiring and firing.
One day off a year for voluntary work. One day!
