The best thing is that you are weekly paid, so you have a constant source of income.
The people that are under twenty one get paid like a lot less than those who are older, despite whether they do the same job or work just as hard.
You meet a massive range of people, which I guess makes it exciting.
The customers and, although sometimes arduous, the work is not hard. i.e. it does not require a high level of thinking and it should be the sort of work that you can just ' leave behind' and not worry about it till the next shift.
A our pub anyway, the local management is weak with appalling attitudes and not enough experience to run the proverbial p--s up. Which is a big disadvantage both to the pub but to people like me I am not interested in career progression but simply to go in and do a simple job well.
How absolutely filthy the staff areas are. I cleaned them twice in my own time but gave up when I realised that in 6 months only they were only cleaned one other time and that was because the plumber who replaced a sink did it.
