“Not bad, just needs to move along with the times”

This company values personal time as well as good quality working hours. This is why management ensures that leave is regularly taken and that employees are always well rested before starting big projects. The public is well aware of the company's good reputation.

Even though the company is consistently growing, there is an air of negativity whenever new policies and workflows are introduced. This effectively hampers faster development, especially in the new digital direction companies tend to be going in. The managers are seemingly unable to convince people that change is good.

Even though work flows very smoothly most of the time, there is no set structure that employees follow on a daily basis.

“Mixed feelings.”

On the one hand there is never too much work, making you feel stressed and tired and there is never so little work that you become bored. There is more than enough time to spend with your family when you need to. No discernible hierarchy that makes staff uncomfortable.

Some of the team leaders are trying to hard to impress the bosses because they want to make a name for themselves in the business. The guys that are supposed to make the networks run smoothly on a daily basis are always off premises. There are never meetings to discuss urgent issues.

You can work in up to six different departments in this company (or move there from an existing position).

About
Lloyd’s Register is a global organisation with a mission to protect life and property and advance transportation and engineering education and research. We offer services to the marine, energy and rail sectors, and management systems services across a wide range of sectors, focused on improving safety, quality and performance. Our reputation as an independent body - with safety, integrity and high standards as its guiding principles - has been built up over more than 250 years. Set up in 1760 to survey merchant ships, and ‘classify’ them according to their condition, in the 1900s we began to apply our expertise to other sectors. We are a successful, profit-making business which relies on the skills, knowledge and experience of our employees – professionals and experts in their fields. ‘Lloyd’s Register’ is a trading name of Lloyd’s Register Group Limited and its subsidiaries. Lloyd’s Register Group Ltd (LR) is the wholly-owned operating group of Lloyd’s Register Foundation, a UK charity dedicated to supporting the advancement of engineering-related education, and funding research and development that enhances safety of life at sea, on land and in the air.
