Generally a good company to work with in solid policies in place and a relaxed work atmosphere. The pay is on par with industry standards. Training provided is good. Lots of good people in the company, both amongst managerial staff as well as the general workforce. Employees feel valued, and are allowed to maintain a good work life balance.

Personnel are all over the place at MITIE. Don't expect to get paid on time, or the correct amount and if you take your problem to your line manager, he or she will sit on it and nothing much will happen. It can be difficult to get any kind of answer at all from admin. Hours can be demanding and you're often expected to work evenings and weekends.

I could go on and on and on but you can only have 2000 characters on here. more

all the various contracts have decided to have the smart idea of putting all the related help desk teams in one office. so no bond grows between these teams and the client since they do not work together like a typical in house team would in other companies, basically being on site. PS. Their in-house teams were so bad, that external contractors were used for a better result on most contracts.

Love my team and the people I work with and the fact that I can work autonomously but with the support of the senior team. I enjoy the culture of innovation and change - it's an inspiring environment.

In my 30 years in facilities management, I have never witnessed such poor management. Lack of interaction with staff, and the ability to communicate and ensure staff are well informed. Mitie is too big and lacks coherent management structure. Their strategy seems to be manage by 'laptop' and not by physical presence on the ground, this is how they make their profits. Someone, somewhere in senior management needs to take action, come on Mitie this is a wake up call!

The pay, not being renumerated correctly and properly meant some months loosing hours you have worked a d not being paid for them at all. Having to store insecticides and pesticides at home as vans are overloaded with your waste as only waste collections are three to four times a year as your Service Manager wants to save money.

And i wonder if it's a scam they pull on all of their employers. Swindle a few hours here and there and it soon adds up. Being that the jobs are in the blue collar sector they know that a large portion of uneducated working class people are too timid to complain. As if they don't have a right.
