Not being a true meritocracy where Team Leaders and Managers do not possess detailed knowledge to enable support to subordinates.

How vastly it has morphed into a densely top heavy Company, mainly as a result of being a monopoly for many years. Let us hope with competition coming, shortfalls will be exposed.

Northumbrian Water provides water and sewerage services to 2.7 million people with an operating area of 9,422km2 through 16,965km of mains and 29,724km of sewers. Essex & Suffolk Water provides water services to 1.8 million people with an operating area of 2,892km2 through 8,580km of mains. North east England Northumbrian Water provides water and sewerage services to 2.7 million people in the north east of England. The major population centres of Tyneside, Wearside and Teesside are in our area but we also serve large rural areas in Northumberland and County Durham (provision of waste water services only in Hartlepool). South east England Essex & Suffolk Water provides water services to two separate supply areas. Our Essex area, which has a population of 1.5 million, is part rural and part urban with the main areas of population being in Chelmsford, Southend and the London Boroughs of Barking and Dagenham, Havering and Redbridge. We serve a population of 0.3 million in our Suffolk area, which is mainly rural with the biggest towns being Great Yarmouth and Lowestoft.
