Lovely co-workers and a great place to work. You'll get plenty of support from senior colleagues. OM makes medical instruments and provides a great launchpad for a career in medical engineering. The hours are good and promotion prospects are good too.
Pay and benefits package could be better. The company doesn't pay its interns.
The lovely Oxfordshire countryside nearby.
Engineering in the medical industry is a complex and very interesting choice of work. This company makes it even better. The managers are always on hand to assist with any aspect of training and coaching. Everyone enjoys the office hours as they are not your usual 9 to 5 hours.
The only issue I have with the place is that you get “tested” before being accepted into the internship program. If you don’t make it in, you don’t even have a cent to show for it. It seems that this process could be improved upon.
The company offers several internships on an annual basis.
