Colleagues are pretty good and the customers are positive and friendly. The staff discount of 10% of all goods might not seem like much. But you can buy just about anything from Sainsbury's (from groceris to TVs and laptops!)
The management seem to be out of touch with what goes on in the stores. They schedule shifts that border on illegal and seem to have little knowledge of working time directive rules. At times shifts would change without informing employees. Would be good to see the senior management in the store from time to time. If they spend time doing basic jobs like shelf-stacking or manning a checkout they will learn more about how things really work.
It is always busy there is always something to do within the store and the staff are great to work with it isn't to strict so there is a chance to bring some of your own personality to your job.
I feel as though I work hard and there is not much reward the pay is low considering how much work we have to do to keep the shop running . I feel under appreciated by the company as I so t think they are aware of how hard some of their staff work to keep them in profit.
The people you interact with mainly customers you never know who your going to come into contact with.
Job security, good team work, friendly staff, get to help customers, share schemes and pensions, great benefits packages, lots of locations, company usually very willing to assist with moving locations.
The first few days of induction can be incredibly boring and not really tailored to your actual duties, so when you actually start real work you're not quite sure of everything, so make sure you ask your team leader about anything that crops up which you're unsure about. A lot depends on your team leader too, some can be great, others... less so.
Expensive vending machines for staff in rest areas.
The opportunities that I had to work on different departments and try different things.
Smelling the bread baking when I was hungry.
Learning all the different food stuffs that I never knew existed
Brilliant colleagues and a good team spirit
Pay isn't brilliant
The variety of people you encounter. Some gems and some proper weirdos.
Bad management, no progression with new structure, demoralising, huge workload, low staff morale,I could go on just awful..........
No care at all !!!
THEY ARE DOING NOTHING TO HELP SAVE OUR PLANET. BUT THEY ARE MAKING MONEY!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The other colleauges are generally lovely
Lazy incompetent managers who are unapproachable and couldnt give a flying fig about your health. Constantly understaffed and often left running the whole front of store with just one other colleague. Neither of us trained. Often fighting with customers over thefts while the security staff sit on their backsides. My motto for this company is "If you want recognition and to avoid just being a number to them, then take a day off ill. They will be all over you in seconds!"
How managers are so clueless! Like where did these people even come from? No people skills, nothing!
Fair pay shouldn't be a benefit!
