“« Unsupportive and confusing on all key levels of management »”

Good atmosphere at work within the staff and generally good team. With regards to the current economic crisis, beggars can’t be choosers.

Heads of the Universty don’t seem to be able to get along and find a way to work together. Depending on where the informations on the main aims come from, they differ completely, which tends to make focusing on work quite difficult. While the financial support brought by the tuition fees is essential, the staff tends to be told to focus on research and disregard the teaching aspect of the job, prefering to overload unfortunate individuals. No-one listens. Senior management : Listen. Listen to the staff, listen to the students, cut down on the red tape and stop blaming each other instead of facing the reality and your own weaknesses. A plan for development and evolution must be put in place and the management must be made to stick to it.

“If it’s the best job you can find, then keep it till something better comes along.”

Well, the pros aren’t great. The only good thing about this place is that it provides work for the jobless. Some of the other staff members are easy going and friendly.

Too many to mention on one page. For one, the directors and other senior staff want to do away with class modules they find “unnecessary”. Even if it’s one of the few classes you enjoy teaching. There is a “waiting list” when it comes to promotions, meaning it almost never happens. Essentially there is no forward thinking. The place is going nowhere fast and taking its workers with it.

Even the campus itself is unpleasant. Doesn’t look like much.
