Reviews:

“An exciting environment with a fashion focus and a good understanding of who their core customer is”

The variety. Every day is different. Also the team spirit

Insufficient staff levels at times

The customers! You get an eclectic mix, but generally a fun one.

“Where to learn the job”

There are many good points in working at Topshop. You get a good training, discounts on what is in-store, the environment is great and fun and everyone is very friendly. Management is really concerned with the staff and you get all the support and the supervision you might need. You feel valued and get rewarded for your hard work.

Career opportunities are hard to come by if you want to stay in the same place. In order to progress, you must be ready to be flexible. The job can also take over your life if you are really into it.

The leadership is really good and they have values you can relate to.

“Great company who'd need better management”

The pride you can take from working there, the staff discounts which are really nice if you are into fashion (if you are not, then you shouldn't be working there). It is a great, fun and helpful environment to work in and the staff is encouraged to bond.

There are no career opportunities, the pay is just about decent but could be better. The turnover rate is too high which means that constant changes destabilise the staff and hinders productivity. Senior management needs to be more rewarding towards hard-working people and review their priorities.

Staff discount isn't that good as it depends on how much you've already spent.

“Good environment and place to start a career in retail”

You get staff discount, uniform allowance and the culture and values of the company are good. If you like their products, it makes it much easier to sell them. People are very sweet and friendly and the managers really look after their staff and spend enough time trainng them so that they learn all the aspects of the job.

Even though it is a very easy and fun job, it can get really tiring physically and mentally. Your run around for the greatest part of the day and not all customers are nice. The salary is quite low and there's such a high turnover that the stores are not always functionning properly and you sometimes get lots of shifts or none.

Great place to get trained

“DON’T DO IT (BATH) !!”

the discount and uniform

bullying and being treated terribly by managers, forced to work whilst meant to be at school. bitchy and uncomfortable environment to be in.

being treated like children and managers abusing their power

About
Since it launched in 1964, Topshop has become a major style authority and one of fashion’s biggest success stories. Capturing the zeitgeist every season, its brave and irreverent approach to style has captured the imaginations of fashion-conscious shoppers and industry insiders alike. Born In 1978, Topman has earned its sartorial stripes with an unswerving, energetic approach to producing truly exciting high-street men's fashion. Driving trends forward while shifting the way men approach shopping, the Brand's attitude to creating brilliant, affordable and authoritative menswear is second to none. Both brands are staunch supporters of young British design talent, we sponsored the globally recognised New Gen scheme since 2002, which has bolstered the careers of fashion heavy-weights such as Christopher Kane, Jonathan Saunders and Mary Katrantzou. With around 380 stores in the UK, and over 100 in international territories - including our US sites in New York, Chicago and Las Vegas - it is Topshop and Topman’s individuality that has earned them worldwide respect. Our Oxford Circus Flagship store is one of the biggest retail spaces ever and home to many of our 200,000 customers. We pride ourselves on making this a store that is exciting to visit.
