29% of employees recommend this company to their friends

“Agile company with vision, expanding its business operation”

This is an agile business environment, they are very quick to develop new markets and to expand the business into new areas It's great to meet the challenges of an upwardly mobile operation like this – it really stretches you in a good way and you have a chance to shine Senior management have an open door policy and they really look after their people - most people want to stay once they join

There are so many subsidiaries that this can sometimes be the cause of conflicts in priorities – the subsidiaries have their own independent goals and are working towards them in their own way. So you need to be really focused and know your role boundaries in order to manage your working week appropriately.

Most unusual to see someone leave the company once they've joined!

“Excellent experience at Travis Perkins, very happy with the time I spent here.”

An extremely efficient and well run company that is proud of what it does and what it stands for. This sense of pride runs deep within the employees, and is infact how i came to hear about it - a friend and fellow employee's boast. The senior leaders are somewhat unknown, but profess vast and practicable knowledge about running a modern business. The culture meanwhile is warm, simple, supportive and extremely ambitious. Hard work is very well rewarded here.

The only downside has nothing to do with the company, and is infact on account of the economic downturn. There is definitely a sense of uncertainty hanging in the air at work these days, and although no one has got the sack, everyones aware that things are getting harder and harder for the company with every passing day.

Excellent company, but perhaps not the best time to join. Wait for better times.

“Poor basic rates of pay, lack of overtime”
