A courier delivers important documents or products to a customer as quickly and efficiently as possible. Generally the product or document that is being delivered by a courier is of such importance that the client is unwilling to trust it to another means of delivery service. Couriers must be able to drive and have a fully qualified license. Often a courier will use alternative modes of transport such as bicycles or motorbikes so they can navigate through traffic in big city settings. They must also have excellent time-keeping skills. Reliable couriers are an asset to any company and even have their own award ceremony. The National Courier Awards are held in September of each year in London and honour the best couriers in a variety of categories.
