Deafblind UK have over 30 social groups that enable our members to meet up and take part in organised activities and day trips out.
We are looking for a Volunteer Driver to pick up 2 members. One lives in the Larne area and the other in the Newtownabbey area. The Volunteer is more than welcome to stay for the group, but this isn't essential.
The monthly group runs every 2nd Monday of each month from 2pm-4pm.
The member who lives in Larne would need collecting at 1.10pm and then the other member would need collecting at 1.30pm to make it to the group on time.
You will be using your own vehicle, so would need appropriate insurance cover and you will be able to claim back mileage at 33PPM.
The member’s safety is priority and they would need guiding into and out of the car - full training is provided.
1 member communicates with clear speech and the other communicates with BSL but is also a very good lip reader, so having BSL is not essential, but would be an advantage.

What will we ask for in return?
A regular commitment of one weekly visit – usually 1-3 hours We will need to undertake two references and a DBS check before this role can start You will need to be over the age of 18 years to apply for this role
