Welcome! The Primary Care Wellbeing Service is a dynamic, enthusiastic, and innovative IAPT team, consisting of PWPs, CBT Practitioners, and Counsellors. We serve the people of Telford which is an exciting, diverse and growing modern town, surrounded by the stunning Shropshire countryside.
We are currently recruiting for: 4 x IAPT Trainee Psychological Wellbeing Practitioners.
The training post is for one year which includes two days per week at University/self-directed study and three days of supervised clinical practice. The successful applicants will have a degree level qualification and good communication skills particularly with someone in distress. It is useful although not essential to have knowledge of the IAPTus system or be willing to undertake training in this area.
The Trainee Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner’s (PWP) will train to provide high volume low intensity interventions, which will be a range of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) based self-management interventions, supporting clients with mild to moderate anxiety and depression. This support will be provided in face to face and telephone sessions, computerised CBT and co-facilitating step two courses.
As a result of year on year high performance and growth, we are looking for talented and ambitious people to help us achieve our goals by providing gold standard treatment to our service users.
As a service we pride ourselves in providing and adhering to a range of NICE approved evidence based treatments including the recommended amount of sessions. These treatments include CBT, Counselling for Depression, IPT, EMDR, Couples Counselling for Depression, Guided Self Help and Computerised CBT.

The interview process will be in two stages, firstly an interview by the team on Wednesday 19th June 2019 or Thursday 20th June 2019 and then an interview day with the University of Birmingham on either 22nd or 23rd July 2019
