Would you like to earn some extra money? Are you looking for a new opportunity and a chance to make a difference? Then you're probably just the person our children need.
You'll be part of our bank of Relief Support Workers at our children's home, working on the residential side of the school with children who have autism and severe learning disabilities. Part of a close-knit team, you'll support children and young people aged 11 to 19, supporting them with their daily lives and encouraging them to take part in community activities and hobbies. During the day the children go to the nearby MacIntyre school.
Bank staff cover the shifts when the regular permanent members of staff are off sick, on annual leave, training or during other periods when we are short-staffed. Shifts could include days, evenings and weekends. There is no obligation to accept any shifts offered and we will try and find a good work/life balance preparing rotas the month before. If you haven't worked a shift for 3 months you will automatically drop off our Relief register.
You may have been a care worker or healthcare assistant before, but if not don’t worry, you don’t need experience – so long as you have the right approach, we can teach you the rest. We’ll support you to gain your Level 3 Diploma for Residential Childcare (free of charge), alongside other specialist training all provided on site by MacIntyre.
Maybe this is the opportunity you've been looking for, to experience a different career to see if this is the right one for you!
OPEN DAY - We are holding a Recruitment Open Day at MacIntyre school in Wingrave on Saturday 29 June 2019 from 10am to 4pm. If you want to know more about our current vacancies and what the school has to offer, please come along and talk to staff about the possibilities. Hope to see you there!
MacIntyre is a award-winning national charity supporting people with learning disabilities. We use person centred approaches to keep the people we support safe, happy and healthy and to ensure each individual is able to live a life that makes sense to them.
