The day to day duties of an apprentice joiner will include assisting with joinery works on the full range of our properties/buildings, along with the construction and renovation of sash and case windows, doors, furniture etc including removal and installation to a conservation standard.

You will also be involved in traditional building/repairs including skirting, flooring and roofing, and construction of external and internal staircases for visitor access as well as other bespoke carpentry and joinery elements such as cupboards, seating, shelving, fencing, formwork

You will be required to assist & undertake as and when required joinery work associated with new construction work along with undertaking various training courses.

As part of Outreach programmes, you may be required to promote traditional methods of conservation and joinery techniques, as well as being involved in challenging and diverse conservation projects/works.

You may be asked to work at other remote sites out with your assigned MCU area which may include overnight stays.
