Reporting to the Global Cargo Documentation/Configuration Manager you will be responsible for reviewing Engineering Change Orders (ECO) to ensure the proposed changes are correct and conform to both Rapiscan Systems internal requirements and standards but also industry standard Fit, Form and Function requirements. Where the ECOs do not conform you will be responsible for returning the ECO to the originator and help the originator understand the error and how to correct it. As a seniior member of the team, you will be responsible for the department when the Manager is off site, as such you will be required to maintain the current standards and to support your team with their duties should an issue arise.

  • Reviewing ECO's, capturing and correcting any errors found prior to pushing through the Work-flow to allow CCB members to review.
  • Communicating the release of ECO's to the ERP/MRP system and advising affected functions of the implementation actions.
  • Monitor and expedite outstanding ECO's as they progress through the work-flow.
  • Working closely with Engineering and Engineering Administrators to correctly construct ECO's to eliminate unnecessary errors.
  • Creating ECO's when required.
  • Providing feedback to the Project Managers on Product Status and the Release for Shipping process.
  • Identify and support items required to be reviewed by Trade Compliance prior to shipping.
  • Printing, logging and issuing of documentation to the Manufacturing area. This is a very limited but essiential part of the process.
  • Monitoring documents issued to Manufacturing to ensure that they are returned at the end of the project to be removed from the log and destroyed.
  • Required to occasionally chair the Change Control Board (CCB) meetings to identify the ECO implementation actions and determine the material dispositions to ensure the ECO is cut in effectively with the intentions of the ECO are clearly understood.

  • It is the responsibility of every employee to report to their manager or a member of senior management any quality problems or defects in order for corrective action to be implemented and to avoid recurrence of the problem
  • Duties may be modified or assigned at any time to meet the needs of the business.

  • Proven history of Change Management preferably with CM2 Certification Training (but not essential)
  • High level Working Knowledge of Oracle Agile PLM is desirable.
  • A working knowledge of Agile Express is also desirable.
  • Keen eye for detail. The more errors that are identified before release reduces expense and production time.
  • Process orientated. Must be strong willed and able to adhere to established processes and be willing to stand by them and explain to others the necessity of adhering to the process.
  • Very computer literate. You will be working on multiple applications simultaneously. Must have advanced skills in MS Office, particularly Excel and Outlook.
  • Very well organised. There is need to track all the ECOs/NCOs you are responsible for and to manage them through the process.
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written are essential.
  • Process improvement. The ability to identify process weaknesses and to propose solutions.
  • An understanding of databases and data management would be advantageous.
