The Global Insights, Analytics and Commercial Excellence (GIACE) organisation acts as a bridge between commercial strategy and execution by building and providing world class capabilities, frameworks and tools into the global Biopharmaceutial business and key markets.
GIACE designs and drives convergence on commercial focus and excellence to sharpen AstraZeneca's commercial edge. GIACE partners with therapy teams, regions and the markets to drive excellence. It is comprised of three pillars:
Global Commercial Excellence (GCE) Commercial Operation teams embedded in Therapy Areas (TA) to define core deliverables in line with Brand strategies Global Analytics and Insights
The GIACE organisation purpose is to accelerate business growth by driving decisions that make an impact across the product life-cycle defined by three CRITICAL SUCCESS FACTORS
Within the Global Commercial Excellence team, the Director for Patient Excellence develops and delivers world class Excellence Capabilities and Learner Journeys across the top AZ markets, regions and the Global functions. Working and liaising with key stakeholders across the business to ensure that the capabilities drive the success of AZ's business and key brands.
Ensuring and embedding an 'AZ Way of marketing", centred around the patient and aligning marketing initiatives with other functions such as therapy area leads, Global Commercial Operations, Launch Excellence, Global Commercial Digital and Innovation, Sales Excellence,
Key Account Excellence, Medical Affairs and others.
Equipping AZ to win by providing innovative and future facing Marketing capabilities grounded in patient understanding in a rapidly changing healthcare environment.
Candidate Focus and Challenge - Job Description
+ Develops, designs and delivers world class Patient Excellence Capabilities, in conjunction with the AZ Commercial Academy for all levels within the business
+ 'Future proofs' the Patient Excellence agenda by ensuring all external changes and factors are considered
+ Deep expertise in understanding patient & stakeholder dynamics, behaviours and regulation, to drive the overall capabilities on all aspects of patient & stakeholder engagement across multiple channels.
+ Define and deliver the capabilities for a widely accepted patient value proposition
+ Manages relevant external academic bodies and key strategic partners to drive the Patient Excellence agenda for AZ
+ Works with major markets, regions and global stakeholders to develop a Global Patient Excellence plan which addresses key strategic needs, capability gaps and business priorities
+ Embeds common frameworks and terminology across the business
+ Ensures the Patient is at the heart of Brand Planning
+ Works with Marketing Excellence Director, to ensure seamless integration of Patient Centricity into the Core Marketing Frameworks to ensure agile global and local implementation.
+ Works with other GCE team members and stakeholders to ensure alignment and consistency of Patient Excellence frameworks, processes and terminology across all other commercial functions

Candidate Knowledge, Skills and Experience
+ Good level of experience within Sales and Marketing Pharma roles in country
+ Expertise in applying strategic thought leadership, driving disciplined execution, agility and facilitating cultural change focused on Patient Experience and process improvement excellence
