Options Trent Acres, is situated on a 12-acre site offers an integrated residential, education and care package for up to 30 children between 8 and 19 years with a wide range of complex needs, Autism and associated learning disabilities. We have a dedicated staff team who are focused on the delivery of high quality, child centred, bespoke packages of care and education. Our service is in within easy reach of Stoke, Derby, Telford, Stafford, Lichfield, Burntwood, Rugeley, Burton-on-Trent, Tamworth, Uttoxeter and surrounding towns.

Job Summary and Duties

Working as a Deputy Manager in our children’s service, this position has responsibility for leading and motivating a small care team, whilst also taking charge of the home in the absence of the Registered Manager. Additionally also providing daily, quality care and support to children and young people with Complex Needs.

This role is offered on a full-time, permanent basis working 40 hours per week, primarily Monday to Friday, 9 am- 5 pm. Please note however that flexibility of hours is essential to meet the needs of the business.

Following a thorough induction and training programme, your duties would include:

  • Supervising a team of care staff, taking charge of the homes in the absence of the Operations Manager
  • Positively working alongside education and therapy to establish routines and help develop life skills for our young people
  • Support individual life programmes, promoting skills and independence in the home, whilst maintaining safeguarding procedures
  • Managing challenging and complex behaviour
  • Documenting all children’s activities, reporting and recording key aspects of their care, and managing the home's budget
Key Skills Required
  • Willingness to work towards Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care (Children and Young People) Wales (or equivalent)
  • Experience of working at in a supervisory or management capacity
  • Effective leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage both teams and individuals
  • Good knowledge of safeguarding procedures and relevant Regulatory body regulations
