What is the role?
We are looking for experienced Structural Engineers with a background in naval shipbuilding, including main hull and scantling design, assessing against underwater shock and air blast, production engineering, design of modular structures, walkways, sea fastenings and complex lifting arrangements.
* Comprehensive understanding of engineering principles. * Capable of working unsupervised, or as part of a team. * Proficient in various 3D modelling and assessment packages.
To be successful in this role you will have:
* Relevant industrial experience of structural engineering, ideally in naval vessels. * An understanding of structural design in naval platform arrangements in particular the application of naval ship rules * A relevant degree such as structural engineering / naval architecture / mechanical / mathematics or equivalent experience. * A genuine interest in naval architecture and platform design and a desire to work within this specialist domain.
Role are permanent and can be full-time (37.5 hours per week) or part time (minimum 22.5 hours per week).
