An exciting opportunity has arisen to appoint a Funding Support Worker to work on the PEAT (People Enabling Area Transformation) Project, which will operate across Airedale/Castleford and South East Wakefield (Havercroft & Ryhill, Kinsley & Fitzwilliam, Hemsworth, South Elmsall & South Kirkby).

The post holder will listen to the ideas, concerns and ambition of local people and organisations, and help communities to engage with grant funding and explore ways in which it can be used to tackle issues at a true grass roots level.

Funding support workers help community organisations to shape innovative and creative local projects. Capacity building and empowering community organisations is part of the role, advising clients of investment opportunities and providing applicants with technical advice regarding eligibility rules and regulations. Grant funding for projects is via European Regional Development Fund and European Social Fund.

The starting salary for the role will be GBP 27,905 (Grade 8) or GBP 31,371 (Grade 9) depending on experience. The post holder will work within the Economic Growth and Skills Service at Wakefield Council and will report to the Community Locally Led Development Programme Manager. The post is part-funded by European Structural Investment Funds.
