Due to some industry leading growth with CFD in EMEA, we are looking for a CFD technical engineer to join our EMEA CFD Center of Excellence, part of Hexagon Manufacturing and MSC Software.

The successful candidate will get to engage with some of the brightest individuals, in some of Europe’s most innovative and well-known companies, while working alongside some of the best, most experienced simulation engineers in the world.

Technical Engineer – Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD)

Location: Frimley, UK

Travel : Pan EMEA, up to 50%


Area of responsibilities:

  • Empathize with our customers and understand how our products and services can help our customers be more efficient, successful and effective.
  • Provide a technical voice in our sales process helping customers understand the value of Hexagon, MSC & Cradle CFD products & services.
  • Work closely together with our sales and technical teams across EMEA
  • Partner with our customers to help them solve their problems, demonstrating the value of our products and solutions
  • Help shape the future of our solutions with product feedback based on your interaction with customers to developement and engineering.
  • You will get to conduct webinars, speak at industry events, demonstrate best practice and provide the technical expertise for proof of concepts
  • Ensure our customers are the most successful in our industry, as they interact with MSC, Hexagon and MSC Cradle CFD products and services. You will get to guide, mentor, advise and train some of the industry’s most creative and experienced people around CFD.
  • Deliver application consulting to strategic clients which includes the use of MSC products applied to specific moderately complex customer analysis problems
  • Provide technical support for MSC Cradle CFD including co-simulation with other MSC products which may include some of our industry’s most recognized tools, such as MSC Apex, Adams Nastran, Marc, Actran amongst others.

Profile / Skills:

The successful candidate should have the following qualifications/experience/skills:

  • Empathy with our customers and their problems through experience with fluid simulation
  • A passion for CFD. Good industry knowledge, solutions, and methodologies witth experience in computational fluid dynamics and related disciplines
  • Exemplary communication skills, both written, verbal, with the ability to present to and engage our rapidly growing customer base.
  • A potential leader… Positive, constructive, flexible and creative attitude, able to work as a team with a strong sense of responsibility
  • University degree in Mechanical, fluids, aero engineering or equivalent
  • Experience with CFD simulation tools such as, Star-CCM+, Fluent, CFX, OpenFOAM, PHENICS, Flow-3D, AcuSolve, FloTherm, Icepak or equivalent software.
  • Experience in an industrial or consulting environment is an advantage
  • Knowledge of fluid-structure interaction is desirable
  • Knowledge of other MSC Software products is an advantage
  • Ability to learn technology quickly through instruction and self-training
  • Ability to handle and overcome objections in both a pre-sales and project delivery
  • Ability to work in an international, fast-growing environment
  • Excellent knowledge of English, written and spoken is mandatory. French, German or any other European language is very much appreciated.
