To contribute to testing of specific allocated requirements and bug fixes as part of a wider test strategy, including input into test case design, but primarily focused on test case execution, including recording results and defects in the appropriate tool. Completes work items as part of a formal software development lifecycle and delivers software to high quality and within agreed timescales.
Execute software testing tasks assigned within agreed timescales and to a high quality standard. Work to test assigned bug fixes ensuring problem is reproducible without and not reproducible with the bug fix, and therefore prove it has been resolved by the bug fix. Contribute to exploratory testing in areas potentially affected by the implementation of a requirement or bug fix. Contribute to the estimating process for assigned testing tasks. Contribute to test case design Collaborate with test team under supervision of Team Leader and direction of senior quality engineers. Ensure all personal work is reviewed to the relevant test standards Timely and accurate reporting of assigned task status as required by Team Leader/Manager Escalate product issues and suggest product improvements Escalate all issues in a timely fashion Ensure adherence to internal software processes as required by team leader/manager
Higher level education in a software related discipline. Education or experience of full software development lifecycle, ideally including specific focus on testing. Previous experience of Accountancy software (ideally IRIS APS products) preferable and may be substituted for formal software/testing qualifications. Experience of working as part of a team. General familiarity with current technologies and direction of the software and/or testing industry.
