Visit Sarah and brighten up her day

Our member, Sarah, is 93 years old and lives alone in the Stamford Hill area. Due to her combined sight and hearing loss, Sarah is finding herself spending more and more time home alone and is increasingly feeling lonely and cut off from her local community. She is looking for a friendly person who can spare a couple of hours ideally on a Tuesday to come over for a visit and a chat and perhaps a short walk locally.

Sarah is Jewish and vegetarian. As well as bringing up her three children, she was also a carer for her parents and lived for a time in France as her husband was French. She worked as a healthcare receptionist in the UK for over 18 years and before this, in an office for many years. Her hobbies include reading (especially biographies) and classical music. She has a wide range of interests and loves meeting people from different communities.

Could you spare a couple of hours a week and be a friend in Sarah? As Sarah communicates with clear speech, no experience is required - simply a warm heart and the ability to chat and listen.
