Applied Systems, Inc., a worldwide leader in insurance technology, is currently searching for an exceptional Business Development Manager to join our successful sales team. Working closely with our customers and prospects within the UK, our Business Development Managers provide strategic assistance to insurance brokers to understand their key business issues in order to identify potential Applied Systems solutions that can help clients achieve their business goals The role is equally responsible for retaining, educating and cultivating the existing user base.







As a member of our Business Development team you will be expected to meet attributed targets and provide sales projections to the Managing Director of Broker Solutiond. The successful candidate will also be expected to build personal networks that include colleagues, suppliers, customers and industry leaders, work with the Business Development team to identify opportunities out of the current prospect base.







The ideal individual for this position will have a sales background and/or account management experience in the insurance sector with proven new business development capability to help expand Applied's business in the UK market. Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills they will also have good knowledge of the industry, be a persuasive communicator, with strong organisational skills and the ability to support our current and potential clients to improve their business through Applied's suite of products.







This opportunity is UK based, you can live anywhere in the UK. There will be visits to the head office in Brighton and will entail frequent Regional travel as well as attendance at the annual global sales conference in North America.







RESPONSIBILITIES





+ Successfully present and sell products and services to insurance brokers/intermediaries



+ Executes the steps of the sales process as defined by Applied Systems



+ Follow up with supplied sales leads within the parameters provided by the company



+ Identify and develop business opportunities with existing and prospective customers



+ Keeps contact with accounts, conducting presentations, delivering proposals and documenting account history for sales prospects



+ Builds personal networks, including contemporaries, suppliers, customers, colleagues, and industry leaders



+ Works with sales team and management to identify opportunities outside current prospect base



+ Helps coordinate, identify, and resolve issues and concerns that customers face navigating through different Applied departments



+ Develop, write correspondence and presentation pieces for prospects and customers



+ Work with the Regional Marketing Manager to execute marketing campaigns: develop mailing pieces and create lead lists









QUALIFICATIONS FOR THIS JOB





+ Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience



+ Proven experience in Sales or Account Management and/or worked within the general insurance sector.



+ Excellent demonstration, presentation, negotiation, and conflict resolution/objection handling skills



+ Demonstrable knowledge of all products and services; market and competition



+ Solid time management skills; ability to multi-task and prioritise projects



+ Full valid driver's license and safe driving record is required



+ Must be eligible to live and work in the UK and Ireland



+ Knowledge of the broker insurance industry and its distribution system is desirable
